Whether you are spending a few hours photographing Ho Chi Minh City or travelling elsewhere in Vietnam for a specific photographic project,
SaigonWith.Me provides flexible local support built around your plans and requirements.
We start by understanding what you want to photograph, where and when you are travelling, and what kind of support you need.
From there, we can plan the practical arrangements while leaving room for discovery once you are on the ground.
There is no fixed photographic itinerary.
Your interests, photographic objectives and way of working determine what kind of support makes sense.
I can provide local knowledge, photography companionship, location planning and practical coordination, whether you need a few hours together in Ho Chi Minh City or more extensive support for a photographic project elsewhere in Vietnam.
The initial conversation helps us understand the assignment and determine what needs to be arranged in advance.
The photographic plan itself can remain flexible and develop as your time in Vietnam unfolds.
Depending on your plans, I can help with location research, timing, access, transportation, advance contact, accommodation, and finding appropriate local support.
This may include photography fixer support, such as identifying and coordinating a suitable local Vietnamese tour guide or other local specialist who knows the destination and can provide the specific support you need.We can discuss together:
Locations — where you want to photograph and what alternatives may be worth considering
Subjects — people, places, activities, landscapes or aspects of Vietnamese life you want to explore
Timing — time of day, season, local activities and other factors that may affect the photography
Access — whether advance contact, permissions or specific local knowledge may be required
Logistics — transportation, accommodation and how to make the most of your time
Local support — whether a local Vietnamese tour guide or specialist would be useful
Where required, I can research the practical requirements, find the appropriate local support and coordinate the arrangements as part of your photography assignment.
The aim is not to create a rigid itinerary.
It is to make sure the important things are understood and arranged while leaving room for discovery once you are on the ground.
Finding the right local person can be just as important as finding the right location.
For assignments requiring substantial local coordination, advance planning is strongly recommended.
The service can be arranged for individual photographers as well as small groups, depending on the destination and logistical requirements.
For an individual photographer, the arrangement can be particularly flexible and built around a specific photographic objective, location or itinerary.
For small groups, the appropriate arrangement depends on the destination, type of photography and local logistics.

In Ho Chi Minh City, I can accompany you personally for a private photography walk or a longer photographic day.
We can explore neighborhoods, markets, street life, architecture, local communities, hidden streets and everyday Saigon, depending on what you want to photograph.
There is no fixed route or standard itinerary.
You remain focused on your photography while I provide the local knowledge, companionship and practical support that can help you discover places and situations you might otherwise miss.
A photographic day can also evolve as we go. If we discover an interesting location, subject or opportunity along the way, we can adapt the plan where practical.

Photography support can be arranged throughout Vietnam, extending the SaigonWith.Me photography service beyond Ho Chi Minh City.
After discussing your photographic plans, I can develop the local arrangements required for your assignment.
Depending on the destination and the nature of the project, this may involve accompanying you personally, arranging a suitable local Vietnamese guide, or coordinating other local specialists.
Destinations can include:
City Photography: Hanoi, Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue
Ha Giang
Ha Long Bay
Ninh Binh: Trang An, Mua Cave, Tam Coc
Sapa
The Mekong Delta
Rural and remote locations throughout Vietnam
For locations outside the main tourist areas, my role can include local research, location planning, finding the appropriate local person, coordinating logistics, and bringing the different elements of the photographic assignment together.
The local support is part of the photography service you book with SaigonWith.Me, rather than a separate referral service.
The proposed fee and any third-party costs are discussed and agreed before the assignment is confirmed.
I suggest arranging a call, email or WhatsApp conversation so we can discuss your requirements in detail.
We can discuss your dates, destinations, photographic interests, locations or subjects you are interested in, the type of support you need and any specific logistical requirements.
This conversation allows us to understand the assignment, determine what needs to be arranged in advance, and establish the appropriate level of support and potential costs.
The photographic plan does not have to be completely fixed at this stage.
The initial conversation establishes the main objectives and practical requirements, but the photographic plan can remain flexible.
Photography often involves discovery.
Once we are on the ground, a location, subject, neighborhood or unexpected opportunity may lead somewhere different from what we originally discussed. Where practical, we can adapt the plan as the photographic day develops.
For remote locations or arrangements requiring transportation, accommodation, permissions or additional local support, however, more advance planning may be necessary.
"We had an outstanding experience with David and Saigon With Me.
From the very beginning, David took the time to understand what we wanted to get out of our visit and tailored the experience accordingly.
Rather than just showing us the main attractions, he helped us discover different neighborhoods, local culture, hidden gems, and everyday life in Ho Chi Minh City. His knowledge of the city is exceptional, and he was always happy to answer our many questions with honesty and great insight.
He is professional, friendly, patient, and clearly passionate about what he does.
Thanks to David, we left Ho Chi Minh City with wonderful memories and a much deeper understanding of the city than we could have gained on our own.
If you’re looking for an authentic, personalized experience in Ho Chi Minh City, we highly recommend David and Saigon With Me.
Thank you again, David.
We hope to see you again on our next visit to Vietnam!"
“I came to Ho Chi Minh City with only 1.5 days and wanted to make the most of it.
I reached out to Dave for something beyond the usual tourist checklist, and he really listened.
We ended up having an amazing half-day exploring places that matched exactly what I was looking for.
Later that night, we met again for the Saigon Late Night Special — bars, clubs, late-night spots — such a fun experience and something I never could’ve done alone.
David felt more like a friend than a guide. I’ll definitely meet him again on my next trip. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
Thanks, David!"
“WOW, what an experience. I wanted a real look at the city, not the guidebook spots and I also wanted a long walk to keep me moving.
David ended up taking me on a 20+ km walk through places I’d never find on my own. Exactly what I was hoping for.”
“I worked with David to plan a 3‑week trip across Vietnam, simply amazing.
He restructured my itinerary and saved me hundreds of dollars with smart tips.
Thank you so much, David."
“I came to Ho Chi Minh City for a one-week mix of business and pleasure — and luckily, I met Dave.
From the first minutes, it felt like traveling with a friend.
I joined 2 daytime walks, a nightlife walk, and even a weekend trip to Vung Tau.
Every moment was a joy. What an expert, what a great service!”
“Flexible, friendly, and knows every hidden spot.
We took a half‑day trip that included the early morning romantic walk, unforgettable!”
David doesn’t just guide you — he shares Saigon with you, with a real passion for the city that he wants you to experience as well."

Before you arrive, we can discuss what and where you want to photograph, explore possible locations, and build a realistic plan around your interests, timing, and practical requirements.
While you are here, support can include local coordination, navigation, logistics, location assistance, and connecting you with appropriate local people when specialist knowledge is needed.
We can talk about your dates, destinations, photographic interests, locations or subjects you would like to photograph, the type of support you need, and any specific logistical requirements.
Based on what you need, I can explain what I can provide, what may require additional local support, and the potential costs involved before we confirm the arrangement.
The initial discussion allows us to establish the main objectives and plan the practical aspects of your time in Vietnam. However, photography is often about discovery.
While we are together, you may discover a location, subject, neighborhood, event, or photographic opportunity that wasn't part of the original plan. Where practical, we can adapt the day and explore those opportunities together.
For more remote locations or arrangements requiring transportation, accommodation, permissions, or additional local specialists, advance planning is important and some arrangements may not be possible at short notice.
Depending on what you want to photograph, I can suggest locations ranging from urban neighborhoods and markets to rural areas, landscapes, rivers, local communities, architecture, and less-accessible places.
Some locations may require additional research or local coordination, particularly outside the main tourist areas.
I can accompany you on location and provide local support while you photograph — helping with navigation, timing, practical arrangements, and the local environment.
I am not there to direct your photography or tell you how to use your camera. You remain the photographer; I provide the local support.
